Each year, the lovely residents of Clearwater, MB, home of the yearly “Harvest Moon Festival”, welcome into their community recently graduated students from the University of Manitoba School of Art to create work within the beautiful valley they call home. It is in and around this valley where artists become inspired not only by the freedom found within the wild prairie but also by the unique history, people, and many animals that belong to Clearwater. 

‘In the Valley: Work from the Harvest Moon Society Recent Graduate Residency’ brings artwork from the past two years of the residency back to the School of Art, where these artists’ stories began, and celebrates the work done by the Harvest Moon Society in creating a space for education in the land, history, and nature of Manitoba, as well as a space for artists to thrive.  In the Valley showcases the work of Leah Gertzen, Adelle Rawluk and Rae Swan.
