The Harvest Moon Society is pleased to welcome back the Southwest Regional Envirothon on April 20th, 2016. Held in Clearwater in 2010 and 2013, this event is a hands-on environmental education competition for high school students. Top teams will have the opportunity to compete in the Provincial Envirothon in Pinawa this May.

Run by the Manitoba Forestry Association, the Envirothon is designed to encourage team work, problem-solving skills, and public speaking skills while fostering an appreciation for current environmental issues. Students will be trained by experts in a series of environmental topics, ranging from forestry to aquatic ecosystems, and from soils to wildlife. They will then compete in a timed circuit challenge, testing their knowledge of environmental issues.

The Harvest Moon Society is partnering with Pembina Valley Conservation District, Prairie Spirit School Division, and the Clearwater Cabins to host the one-day event.
